Spin Internet, Australia – Unethical Practices

Read this before using their service!

Spin Internet continues to charge your account after your service has been terminated, and then refuses to refund the overcharged money!

If you are considering using the services of Australian internet service provider Spin Internet there are some important facts that you should be aware of before you proceed.

Through our recent dealings with Spin Internet it has become clear that their billing practices are not only unethical, but possibly illegal.

After co-locating a number of servers with Spin for over a year their inability to cater for our growing needs for additional IP addresses (we only needed 256) we were forced to move our servers to a different provider. While the move itself went smoothly a mistake made by their team meant that they continued to bill us for the monthly colocation fee, despite the fact that our servers had been physically removed in the presence of data centre manager Chris [full name, title and contact details to be added], and the required correspondence had been submitted in accordance with their Terms and Conditions.

Later the mistake was found by our own accounts team and by this stage over $4,000 had been charged to our account after the service was terminated. A request for a refund for the overcharged amounts was lodged, but despite our communications related to the disconnection of our service Spin Internet’s representative Con [full name, title and contact details to be added] is refusing to acknowledge their mistake, and is using evasive techniques to avoid talking with us to resolve the issue.

If this is not the type of company you would like to deal with then we strongly recommend staying away from Spin Internet!

There are plenty of ethical co-location and internet service providers out there, so why use people that try to rip you off? Rather than causing the same problems for yourselves, why don’t you try some of the following ethical Australian co-location providers?:
